Linda

Thursday, March 26, 2009

After 18 years in downtown Toronto, the award-winning Thai restaurant is expanding north.  Designed by famed interior designers Munge Leung, Linda will comprise two contemporary dining rooms – a main room with partitions between tables for privacy and "small rooms" for intimate parties – as well as a bright patio. The menu promises food that is “true to Thai tradition,” says owner Ernest Liu, complete with homemade sauces and ingredients that come direct from Thailand.

Ernest and his wife Linda, currently own and operate two longstanding Thai eateries near Yonge-Dundas Square. Salad King is a cafeteria-style restaurant that’s especially busy at lunchtime and a favourite of the Ryerson University crowd. Linda, located upstairs, is a more up-market, full-service restaurant serving even more interesting Thai cuisine.

The Lius are extremely excited about their next move and guarantee the new restaurant will offer the same exceptional food and service that customers have come to expect from the Linda by Salad King name.

“We spent quite a while scouting out locations for our new store,” says Ernest. “Then we visited a number of similar outdoor shopping malls in Arizona, New York and California and fell in love with their open concept. Fresh air makes for a much more interesting experience and we have found that at Shops at Don Mills.”

Linda opened its doors on April 22nd 2009.
