January 6th, 2009, Toronto, ON – This month, Salomon is launching a program aimed at introducing Toronto kids to the sport of skiing. Salomon hopes the complimentary program will introduce city kids, aged 12 to 16 year old, every week to skiing, and will focus on positivity and mentoring.
Every Wednesday evening starting January 6th, kids will arrive at the Salomon store at Shops at Don Mills after school and be given a complete outfit package including jackets, pants, hats and gloves.
Free 2 Ski partner Shops at Don Mills has generously provided the transportation to and from Barrie’s Snow Valley Resort as well as dinner and the cost of ski lessons. Once there, participants will enjoy a night of free skiing, including lift ticket, ski lesson and a full Salomon set-up including boots, skis and poles. The program will then return the kids to the Community Centre that night.
Salomon’s goal is to expose a group of kids to skiing who could not otherwise afford it and to create passionate young skiers in the next generation of Toronto-area youth. The program will run for eight weeks.
